Admission Chance

University Apartments estimates admission chance as a directional planning signal, not as an admissions decision model.

How It Works

The estimate starts with the university acceptance rate as the baseline probability. It then adjusts for test-score strength, GPA, and in-state residency at public universities.

SAT totals are compared with the school's SAT Reading and Math 25th, 50th, and 75th percentile ranges. If SAT data is unavailable, ACT composite is compared with the school's ACT range. GPA is compared with a 3.5 admitted-student median proxy until school-specific admitted GPA data is available.

Chance Bands

The final chance is clamped between 1% and 99%. Schools below 25% are labeled Reach, schools from 25% through 60% are Target, and schools above 60% are Safety.

We do not show a chance unless the school has an acceptance rate and comparable SAT or ACT ranges, and the student has supplied GPA plus either SAT or ACT data.
